From the cosmopolitan culture of Cape Town to the dry plains of Kruger National Park, this once-in-a-lifetime tour of South Africa takes in it's contrasting landscapes and the defining locations recently featured in 'Nelson Mandela; The Long Walk to Freedom'. Staying in three luxurious hotels along the way, you'll travel from the tip of the peninsula through Johannesburg and onto a private game reserve in Kruger National Park.Beginning in the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town, you’ll spend your first four nights at the Protea Hotel President, which was opened by Mandela and is set in the heart of scenic Bantry bay. Whilst you’re here, you'll gain an insight into Mandela's life with a half-day city tour which includes visits to Cape Town's Grand Parade, where he delivered his first speech as a free man followed by a visit to the infamous Robben Island, where he was imprisoned for 18 years. Next, you’ll jet off to Johannesburg, high up on the Highveld plateau, checking-in for two nights at the Peermont Mondior. During your time here, you'll take in the legendary Soweto township, Mandela House, where Madiba lived before his imprisonment, and the Apartheid Museum.Next, you'll travel to your final destination – the world-famous Kruger National Park for your last three nights in South Africa.
